About Me

I am an interdisciplinary artist working across a range of media including printmaking, painting, ceramics, and illustration. My journey began in a small, lush hamlet at the foothills of the Himalayas in Northeast India, where the vibrant landscape and the mighty Brahmaputra River became the earliest sources of my inspiration. Now, I find myself living bicoastally between the dynamic cities of Mumbai and San Francisco, where the contrast and confluence of these environments deeply influence my work.
Through my art, I aim to tell stories that are close to my heart - cherished memories, interpersonal relationships, and the quiet, liminal spaces that captivate me. My practice is a form of expression and storytelling, where I explore the themes of joy, gratitude, and the simple wonders of nature, such as the lush greenery of a tree or the tranquility of birdwatching. These elements bring me a sense of peace, which I strive to convey through my work.
Printmaking, in particular, has become a passion of mine. The surprise of the reveal, the slow, deliberate process, and the deep commitment to perfection resonate with me. It mirrors the way I view the world—akin to meditation, requiring patience, and a keen observation of the subtleties of light, tone, and the passage of time.
Whether it’s capturing the way sunlight flows through my daughter’s house or the foggy light of dawn, I seek to freeze these fleeting moments in memory, allowing others to place themselves within these quiet spaces.
My artistic journey has been enriched by experiences such as the Summer Art Program at Stanford University, the Ghost Ranch Georgia O’Keeffe Art Retreat, and learning woodcut techniques from talented artists like Kate Laster and Txutxo Perez. These opportunities, along with numerous online workshops during the pandemic, have deepened my practice and expanded my perspective.
Today, my work reflects an assimilation of both Eastern and Western influences, and through it, I have discovered a powerful medium to connect with others, foster community, and share the magic that art possesses.
